The commission

The picture and what it says are chosen together

We do not sell a catalogue of prints. We start from your venue and your destination: what can be seen from here, where your front desk sends people, what you serve and where it comes from. Out of that comes which picture goes on each wall and what its code opens, which is not always the same thing.

The result is yours: the canvases, the plates and the pages, with your brand. You can order more or change a picture without starting again.

Visit and measurements

We look at the walls, measure and photograph the place. That settles how many canvases fit, at what size, and what light falls on them, which is what decides the finish.

Pictures and pages

We choose the images — from our archive of the destination or yours — and write what each page says. You review it before anything is printed.

Colour proof

We send a printed proof of the chosen finish. Colour on a screen and colour on canvas are not the same thing, and it is better seen before than after.

Printing and delivery

Printing, mounting on the stretcher, plates and delivery ready to hang. If you like, we hang it ourselves and leave the wall finished.

FAQ

No. Phone cameras have read QR codes for years, on Android and on iPhone: you point and the link appears. What opens is an ordinary web page, so it works the same on an old phone as on a new one, with nothing to download and no account to create. That is the difference between something people use and something they don't.

You change it on the website and the printed code still leads to the right place. The code does not point at a text: it points at an address of yours, and behind it we put whatever is needed at the time. A page can change its opening hours, its pictures or its recommendation without touching the canvas, which is the expensive part.

It depends how you put it there. That is why the code does not sit on the picture but on a separate plate the size of a card, in acrylic or wood, at eye level and a hand's width from the canvas. From across the room it reads like a museum label; up close it is what invites the scan. A QR printed over the image ruins both things.

Either. We have our own archive of the destination, and if you would rather use yours we prepare them for large format, which is not the same as preparing them for a website: it takes resolution, and a phone picture does not always survive at a metre twenty. If what you want does not exist, we go and photograph it. That is quoted separately.

Six. Below that, the cost of the visit, the pages and the colour proof weighs too heavily on each piece and it comes out expensive for no reason. A small hotel usually takes between fifteen and thirty; a restaurant, between six and twelve. If you have a single wall but a very large one, talk to us and we'll look at it.

Shall we start with the visit?

We come, look at the walls and come back with a proposal, the sizes and the quote for the three kinds of venue.
